4 Types of Car Insurance Coverage

Getting the correct type of car insurance can be a hassle but if you know what to look for then its not quite as hard. The four types of insurance coverage I’m going to talk about are the ones that most people look for.

1- Collision coverage is the very basics when it comes to insurance. If you get into an accident the collision insurance pays for all the fees to get your car fixed. If the car can’t be fixed they pay you in cash, the amount of cash is determined by the cars value at the time of the accident. At the minimum you want to have this type of insurance.

2- Comprehensive coverage is when something other than a collision damages your car. It acts the same way as collision except it covers stuff like hail, floods, fires, an impact with an animal. This is also a good coverage type to have, especially if your area is prone to bad weather.

3- Uninsured/underinsured Coverage come in handy when you get into an accident with someone who doesn’t have insurance, when you get into a wreck with that type of person all fees for your car falls back onto you. This type of coverage is nice to have incase you get into an accident with an irresponsible person.

4- Liability coverage is another type of auto insurance that most drivers have. If you run into a telephone pole the liability insurance is going to pay for the telephone pole and any other claims that may come up about the wreck. This type of coverage is very nice to have because accidents do happen.
